Total Defence Day

AGPS commemorated Total Defence Day (TDD) over a period of two weeks in February. A variety of activities in line with this year’s TDD theme, "Together we keep Singapore Strong" were organised for our pupils.
The commemoration kicked-off with our Junior Civil Defence Lionhearter, Roshini from 6 Confidence, reading out the Total Defence Day message during the morning Assembly and the Total Defence Day Poster Competition. Our pupils selected the winners by voting for their favourite Anchorlite-designed posters for each level. During TDD Assembly, our students were treated to a skit which highlighted the importance of embracing our differences and working together to defend our home. Students also had the opportunity to take on the roles of victims as they were bandaged at our First Aid Booth and to dress-up as SCDF officers during their recesses. Classroom fans were switched off for half an hour during lessons to allow our students to experience the hardships of our fore-fathers during the Japanese Occupation when resources were scarce. What an enriching experience it was for each and every Anchorlite!
